1. Choose market that matters.

    - and matching market to competencies

2. Select segments to dominate

    - u cant conquer all, so aim to be king somewhere

3. Focus resources to deliver value to customer

    - dont spread yourself out thin.. 

4. Integrate to serve customer well

    - improve, redesign processes/systems

5. Measure what matters

    - measure results are analysed;

    - and outcome feedback to the above

first of the four noble truths

i'm quite embarrassed to say that after so many years i just found out that my understanding of the first of the four noble truths had been incorrect.

Believe i read that the first noble truth was 'life is pain and suffering..' But recently, i listened on a Buddhist podcast which the speaker mentioned that 'Buddha never say that life is pain and suffering. He said that in life, there is pain and suffering..'

This is a very enlightening statement which makes me fully understood why Buddhism is not a pessimistic 'religion'. In fact, with this new found understanding that in life there is pain and suffering, i truly believe that Buddhism is indeed a positive force.

So, in life, there is joy and happiness as well..   ;-)

Taps in the Mall

Recent news talked about the malls changing to automated taps in toilets.. Both customers and malls management were interviewed.

Surprisingly, the malls management talks about benefits such as savings from water utility and lower maintenance cost in the long run.. without any mention about customer satisfaction.

And the customers complained about the reduced & 'un-tuned' water flow from these so-called high-tech sensor taps.. though some malls' taps are working well..

Obviously, there's a gap in expectation that resulted in less than satisfactory experience for the shoppers. For those malls that are not customer-oriented, good luck to them.. in the long term, i'm sure they will loose out.. for not being caring enough..

Beautiful names

There are many beautiful names out there.. though one shouldnt get too attach to them.. coz they're just names..
